Action Sequence

This week, our assignment in my Basic Television Production class is to do an assignment called "Action Sequence." It's a video of classmates/friends getting up, leaving the classroom, making their way out the door, through the hall and down the steps of Turner Hall from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor.

Here's a video that I shoy my one of my dear friends and line sister, Ta'Sadia Johnson.

What I loved about this assignment the most was being able to be both the director and producer of this project. I believe that both skills will be essential and necessary in whatever aspects of broadcasting media that one pursues. Again, I love the editing aspect of this asignment as I feel as though I am growing in as an editor in every project and it's beautiful to see the growth visually through all of my assignments. As of right now, this has been my favorite assignment/project, so far!

Five Questions in Five Parts

This week in my Basic Television Production class, I have to produce and edit interview segment I called "Five Questions."

The piece opens with a two-shot of the host and the guest. The host, in this case Makayla Dotson, introduced herself, the segment ( which is titled Mind Frames) and her guest. The guest is asked to tell a bit about, in this case, herself, who is Andrea Fullington.

This interview follows learning more about Andrea, her life with diabetes, how it has impacted her, what motivates her, and my future endeavors.

One of things I enjoyed the most about this project would be learning more about the impact of diabetes on young children and gaining a passion to be an advocate for it as well. Another thing that I enjoyed about this project was continuing to push editing skills through my creative choices such as the music and intro and outro titles. As well as being able to produce this project, I personally believe that I thrive more being behind the camera and it was amazing to be in a directorial position.
